Jun09/An Attempt at a Basline Grid

So with this redesign I attempted to create a baseline grid (I’m pretty sure that what I ended up with is not even close). That is why all my font size and line-height values are set to pixels, if they weren’t I don’t think I would have ever finished the site. The baseline grid has been traditionally used in print design to create a strong visual flow down the page.

It has yet to really be seen on the web because of how difficult it is to do without a layout program like InDeisgn and Quark. For a better understanding on baseline grids on the web I would look at Wilson Miners ‘Setting Type on the Web to a Baseline Grid’ on A List Apart.

Oh no! It looks like Kyle is talking to himself again. Leave a comment so he doesn’t look so crazy.
