Yesterday at the the WWDC Apple released a new laptop, OS, iPhone OS, and iPhone. They all have fallen short of my expectations and from what I’ve seen many other peoples too. The new MacBook Pro already seemed like a pro, the new OS doesn’t have any spectacular added to it and the iPhone falls short of, well an iPhone upgrade.
The iPhone OS includes some very cool stuff but some that should have been developed a while ago, ahem picture messaging. Much of those upgrades, including picture messaging, wont be available to the U.S., thanks to At&t, till the end of the summer.
Apple seems to set themselves a high bar to impress me and some of its other customers. We seem to expect the very best from Apple every time they launch a new product. Unfortunately for them when we don’t see the bling bling of features we get upset and cry “fail”. Maybe Apple doesn’t want there OS, browser, and phone to become bloated and feature rich like their competitors and don’t mind a little disappointment from the launch.
At any rate, you wont see me updating my iPhone to the new 3Gs and at $29 they might tempt me to upgrade my OS, but not anytime soon. As for At&t they’ve severely dropped the ball on this one. Unlike Apple At&t doesn’t have much leeway with its customers.
Oh no! It looks like Kyle is talking to himself again. Leave a comment so he doesn’t look so crazy.
